Taylors Falls Bike Rodeo

By Chief Stenson
6/28/2007

On Wednesday May 23 at 3:45 PM the Lakes Area Police Department and the Chisago County Sheriffs Department worked together to present the 2007 Bike Safety Rodeo to Taylors Falls. The weather did not cooperate but the Taylors Falls elementary staff did cooperate and let the Bike rodeo be held inside. Helmets once again were made available at $5 each through Fairview Lakes Regional health Care Community Outreach. St. Croix Regional Medical Center staff also assisted with Bike Registration and Reflectors as well as certificates of completion for completing the safety course. This year the rain came down heavy but Taylors Falls elementary Principal Thimm and his staff allowed the rodeo to be held inside. Riders were given instruction on hand signals and were able to practice good biking habits. "Chisago Lakes is now in the heart of biking season and it was a good time to refresh those safe biking skills" said Brad Bourasa of the Lakes Area Police Department. Sponsors for this years event were: WHY USA Chain of Lakes Realty, Lakes Area Police Department, Lindstrom Arbys, Fairview Lakes Regional Health Care, St. Croix Regional Medical Center.  New Bicycle Sponsors are: Mainstreet Bank, River Bank, Security State Bank of marine, Taylors Falls Chamber of Commerce, Lake Area Bank, True Value Hardware of Chisago City and Lindstrom Hardware.
